What is CDC+?

Consumer Directed Care Plus (CDC+) is a self-directed option within Florida’s iBudget Home and Community-Based Services waiver, administered by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

You (or your representative) become the employer of record. A Fiscal/Employer Agent holds Medicaid funds and pays workers at your direction — money does not arrive as unrestricted cash.

Typical path

  1. Be enrolled on iBudget and live in your own or a family home.
  2. Work with a CDC+ consultant (a Waiver Support Coordinator trained for CDC+).
  3. Complete initial training / readiness requirements with your consultant.
  4. Develop a Purchasing Plan for how the monthly budget will be used.
  5. Hire workers (friends/family allowed under program rules), complete hiring packets, and obtain Level 2 clearance before services start.
  6. Track hours, approve timesheets, and reconcile monthly statements with your F/EA materials.
